60163 Tornado joins the festive cheer with The Christmas Bath and Bristol Express - 07/12/2019

The 100mph green machine no. 60163 Tornado hasn't featured much down south this year due to commitments mostly up north in particular in Scotland during the summer season. I last filmed her back in July with the Pembroke Coast Express as well as the run over the South Devon Banks in June. Today was the first of two runs for the A1 as she started today's tour from Wolverhampton and Birmingham running via Banbury and Oxford before reaching the destinations of Bath and Bristol. I decided to head out early to try and get three shots on the morning run, however, I managed two shots which out better than planned. My first shot was at Tackley on the approach to Oxford. I was there in good time to witness Tornado flying through the station towards the Dreaming Spires of Oxford in readiness for her water stop. Afterward, it was a drive to Newton St Loe to catch her leaving the ancient roman city of Bath behind her and thundering along the A4 road towards the final destination of Bristol. She sounded superb and even being held up by traffic into the city, I managed to arrive in good time to see her. The evening shot (which I wasn't going to do) was a fast run through Keynsham Station. She was running 15 minutes late but sounded amazing and the long blast of her chime whistle prompted one guy to say in his words 'That was better than sex'. I guess he loved it and to be fair it was a really good shot to end the day. Hope you enjoyed the video.
