KOMPAS.TV - Police arrested two perpetrators of an attempted kidnapping of an elderly woman exercising in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The two perpetrators, identified as CW and FAP, were arrested after police conducted an investigation and analyzed CCTV footage that captured their actions on Jalan Camar Permai, Pantai Indah Kapuk, approximately two months ago. In an attempt to evade officers, the perpetrators changed the license plate of the vehicle they were using during the attack. This case went viral on social media after footage of the attempted kidnapping circulated widely. The 70-year-old victim successfully resisted arrest, resulting in the failed kidnapping attempt. The Penjaringan Police Chief explained that the motive for the attack was romantic issues. CW was known to be in a relationship with the victim's daughter and was upset that their relationship did not receive approval. The victim rejected the relationship because CW was already married and had two children.
