Wild Mushroom Nature Walk- November 2023
Let's go on a nature walk and discover the wild mushrooms growing next to the trail! Vice President of the Kitsap Peninsula mycological Society, mushroom enthusiast and educator, and creator of Mushroom Wonderland, Aaron Hilliard takes us on a walk to discover what fungi are growing in the forest of Western Washington this time of year. Mushrooms come in many different shapes and sizes, and can be very interesting yet intimidating to want to forage for the dinner table. This channel aims to help educate about mushrooms, their uses and edibility, and their identification and taxonomy. Aaron is constantly learning and is neck deep in the mycological community staying current with taxonomic information and trying to learn new techniques and purposes for the different mushrooms. In this video he simply goes out into the beautifully enchanted Northwest Forest to help describe what mushrooms he finds along the way. This video is not necessarily intended for beginners or advanced mycologists, just an all-around informational guide and ASMR kind of walk into the woods. The hope is that everybody is cozy in their homes this Thanksgiving morning, and maybe tunes in to watch some charming mushroom infotainment. See you all down the mushroom trail!
