Hello all and thank you for being here!! 🌞💕🌈🌱🌀✨ For our first practice of Yoga Beyond the Mat, we have Ahimsa. Ahimsa is the first of the Yamas and it means non-violence, compassion, and kindness toward ourselves and others. On the mat, Ahimsa invites us to honor our bodies, practice without judgment, and move with care. Off the mat, Ahimsa guides us towards self love and that reflects back in to how we treat others. Ahimsa is not only about avoiding harm, it is about actively choosing compassion. This week, notice: The way you speak to yourself during challenging moments. Whether you allow yourself adequate rest and nourishment. Opportunities to replace criticism with curiosity and understanding. Journal Prompts: 1.) When during my practice did I choose compassion over criticism? 2.) What would change if I treated myself with the same kindness I offer others? 3.) If Ahimsa guided my choices today, what would I do differently tomorrow? As always, modify the practice as needed and remember to drink plenty of water.
