Protective use refers to flags and emblems used to indicate the establishment of an aid station during wartime to enemy nations and to urge them not to attack. Distinctive use refers to the use of armbands, patches, etc. to distinguish people and organizations engaged in Red Cross and other activities. The Geneva Convention regulates this to avoid disruption and confusion. In Japan, it is also regulated by the Act on Restrictions on the Use of Red Cross Emblems and Names, etc. The interpretation of these regulations raises questions about whether it's acceptable if it doesn't fall under either "protected use" or "distinctive use." For example, using a Red Cross on a sign or cosplay merchandise could be considered a violation, since it would cause confusion under "protected use" in the case of a sign, and confusion under "distinctive use" in the case of cosplay merchandise. However, some people believe that using it only in this video, for example, doesn't constitute a problem because it doesn't fall under either "protected use" or "distinctive use." Since this is an issue that may be subject to differing interpretations depending on treaties and laws, I decided not to use it in the video. That said, if they were to use it in naughty videos, claiming that it would hinder freedom of expression, regulations would probably become even stricter. I wish they'd stop. The Disappearance of Henri Dunant Although Dunant made a major contribution to the founding of the Red Cross, his life would subsequently fall into disrepair. The Geneva Trust Bank, of which he was a director at the time, went bankrupt in 1865. Furthermore, his business in Algeria failed, and shareholders took him to court. As a result, the Five-Man Committee asked him to resign, and he was essentially expelled from the Red Cross. After resigning, he was declared bankrupt by the court and disappeared for about 20 years. Dunant was later spotted in Paris and London, but he is said to have lived a vagrant life, sleeping in train stations. His health deteriorated as he lived this way, and he appeared in Heiden, northeastern Switzerland, where he lived in a boarding house for about three years. Dunant's life became deeply involved in the founding of the Red Cross there. In his final years, he lived in a room in the Heiden public hospital. In 1895, a newspaper editor from eastern Switzerland visited Dunant. When an article he wrote was published in a weekly newspaper, Dunant's long-forgotten achievements were brought back into the spotlight. This led to his awarding of the first Nobel Peace Prize in 1901. However, he barely touched his prize money, living a frugal life. In his will, he donated the large sum to the Swiss and Norwegian Red Cross Societies. He passed away on October 30, 1910, at the age of 82. ____________________________________________________ I've created a work BGM channel.
