One bad camshaft almost ended this 1965 El Camino project. After discovering damaged camshaft lobes and worn lifters in our previous video, it’s finally time to put everything back together and find out if all the hard work paid off. In this episode of Broken Bolt Garage we: • Install the timing chain and timing cover • Install the fuel pump • Finish assembling the front of the engine • Reinstall the radiator and cooling system • Set the valves • Install the intake manifold • Fire it up for the first time • Set ignition timing • Break in the new camshaft • See if the El Camino is finally ready to drive again The moment of truth arrives when we turn the key for the first startup after the camshaft repair.
