Francisco Oviedo: Villa de Merlo será sede del Campeonato Nacional Unificado de Trail Running 2027.

The Secretary of Government and Sports of Merlo, Francisco Oviedo, confirmed that the town will host the 2027 Unified National Trail Running Championship, to be held from June 3rd to 6th as part of the UTM (Unified Trail Running Union). The event will bring together the best runners in the country and will serve as a qualifier for the World Championship in South Africa. Oviedo also detailed the 2026 sports calendar, which includes the Cala Trail, orienteering competitions, cycling, enduro, karate, and the closing ceremony with the ProDeport awards. He also announced a special security operation for the Argentina-England match celebrations, with street closures and preventative measures in the central plaza.
