The tragic family story of the Kindschis begins when Emil, at the age of one and a half, is run over by a tractor. The toddler barely survives. Emil's grandfather was driving the tractor. Since that fateful day, the entire Kindschi family has lived with the consequences of the accident. Then write to us at: [email protected] On May 1, 2018, a serious accident occurred in Pany, a mountain village in the Prättigau region of Graubünden. While little Emil was playing in the sandbox, his grandfather Niklaus was just quickly moving the tractor. He didn't see the boy run towards the tractor and get run over by the heavy machine. Severely injured, he was airlifted by Rega (Swiss Air-Rescue) to the Graubünden Cantonal Hospital. The doctors successfully fought to save his life. But they cannot predict whether Emil will ever be able to speak or walk. Three years have passed since the accident. Three years in which nothing has remained the same. Reporter Susanne Arnold tells the story of Emil Kindschi, who is now five years old and fighting his way back to life. She also tells the story of his mother, Ladina, whose marriage broke down because of this tragic event, yet who never lost her courage.
