¿Qué implicaría el proyecto de e-combustibles en Paysandú, según la visita a planta de HIF en Chile?
In a world striving for decarbonization, synthetic fuels based on renewable sources are growing as an alternative in the energy market. The multinational HIF Global, which in 2023 presented a project to install a plant in Paysandú to manufacture these types of fuels, generating Green Hydrogen, already has a similar facility operating in Punta Arenas, in southern Chile, about two thousand kilometers from Montevideo. Last week, a delegation of Uruguayan authorities and technicians traveled to this complex, which is based on harnessing Patagonian wind energy, to learn about its operation. What was their experience after the visit? What would a plant like the Chilean one mean for Uruguay? What stage is this project at? How are the criticisms and doubts this initiative has generated being addressed?
