Усть-Каменогорск утопает в мусоре
Residents of Ust-Kamenogorsk are complaining about late garbage collection. According to residents, the situation has worsened with the onset of autumn. Meanwhile, utility companies also have complaints against residents. Waste collection companies claim that thousands of residents have accumulated debts. Zhanar Asylkhanova investigated who is responsible for the garbage collapse. Residents complain that Ust-Kamenogorsk's garbage collection companies are struggling to cope with the large volume of waste. Problems, they say, have arisen periodically before. But with the arrival of autumn, things have only gotten worse. September and October, especially now, are a nightmare. They don't pick up any garbage. And they bring garbage from all over the Left Bank. Bags, boxes, you name it. They don't collect garbage here. They used to pick it up twice a week, but now they've become completely lazy. Two companies provide services to the city's residents: Oskemenspetskommuntrans and Oskemen Tazalyk. They reported that only one company transports approximately 300-350 cubic meters of compacted waste daily to the waste sorting plant and landfill. At the same time, the company notes a shortage of transport and labor. There are practically no people willing to work with waste. NAZGUL SEITENGAZINA, Deputy Director of Oskemen Tazalyk LLC: "It's not quite organized here. It's not that well-organized throughout the republic. The price is very low and also a bit unprofitable. Therefore, it all seems to accumulate, and these problems arise." Furthermore, according to the Akimat, the population owes over 200 million tenge to waste collection companies. These are mainly residents of high-rise buildings." RASHID SHERUBAYEV, Deputy Head of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Department of Housing and Utilities, Passenger Transport, and Highways: Ust-Kamenogorsk has a population of over 400,000, and their contracts are under two companies: Oskemenspetskommuntrans and Oskemen Tazalyk. This represents a total of 212,000 people. Consequently, only approximately 55-60% of the population pays for all the waste generated in the city. Currently, the rate for multi-apartment residential buildings is 431 tenge per person, and for the private sector, 409 tenge. This is the lowest rate in the region. Removal of bulky waste is not included in the rate. The Akimat promises to address this issue and establish 20 pilot sites for such waste. The regional center is also seeking investors willing to invest in the construction of a waste processing plant. #Information Bureau #31arna #BastyZhanalyktar #News #31channel
