On March 6, the Visaginas municipality website published an announcement inviting residents to review the reconstruction project for regional road No. 113 Dūkštas-Visaginas. The project involves converting an existing intersection at kilometer 12.75 into a roundabout. The information stated that the work would be carried out on a national road, and that the contractor and owner of the road was VIA Lietuva. Since the announcement appeared during a period of active discussion about access road repairs in the city, some residents assumed that the project involved repairs to the national road financed by the municipality. However, in reality, only the project for the future roundabout is currently being discussed. It could be located on the outskirts of the city – at the intersection next to the Bavlas garages and auto repair shop – and would connect Visaginas with a new residential development.
