Using Black Clay Body
As a creative challenge I’m making a small group of slab built clay vessels using a black clay body. When fired this clay is quite dark and should make an interesting background colour for my usual engobes, underglazes and other mark making techniques. In this short film the pots I make are shown as they evolve through their leatherhard, painted and fired states. I make creative progress with my work by exploring the potential of new and less familiar materials and this unfamiliar clay body could lead to some creative development.
