Video Description: Soma is by far my favorite game that I've played because of its storytelling. It asks so many things but one of the things that really, really, got me in Soma was the relationship that Simon and Catherine had. I know that there are two endings but the tragedy at the end of it feels entirely too real because of the way that the ark is separated from the world that we have been spending all of our time in. I didn't really spend a lot of time talking about who the "real" Simon is because I feel like the point is moot. They're all real with real feelings and real consequences and Soma really makes us sit in those consequences. This video as you might have noticed is really personal to me. I think this is one of those topics that I have genuinely been working through for a lot of my life and while this isn't an end all be all solution to the problem of betrayal I think I have come to the point in my life where things are clearer. Ultimately we are all humans with our own fears, desires, and inadequacies. The only thing we can do is work to be better.
