Kevin Carter 🔴 La tragedia detrás de la famosa fotografía LA NIÑA y el BUITRE
Kevin Carter, born on September 13, 1960, in Johannesburg, South Africa, was a prominent photojournalist and member of the Bang-Bang Club. He grew up in an exclusively white, middle-class neighborhood, where he often witnessed police raids to arrest Black people living there illegally. After high school, Carter dropped out of school to become a pharmacist and was drafted into the army. In 1983, after witnessing the bombing of Church Street in Pretoria, he decided to become a photojournalist. He began working as a weekend sports photographer in 1983 and in 1984, he moved to the Johannesburg Star, exposing the brutality of apartheid. In March 1993, Carter traveled to Sudan to document the famine ravaging the country. There, he took his famous photograph "The Vulture and the Girl," which depicts a malnourished Sudanese child being watched by a vulture. The photograph was published by The New York Times on March 26, 1993, and sparked intense debate about journalistic ethics. Despite the criticism, the image earned Carter the Pulitzer Prize for Photography in 1994. Unfortunately, the experience left a deep mark on Carter, who took his own life in July 1994. His tragic end adds another layer of darkness to this already heartbreaking story, especially since the truth came out after Carter's death, but he had already been judged and condemned by public opinion. 👉FOLLOW US ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA ▶️ Twitter: / historiacronica ▶️ Facebook: / croniscasdelahistoria ▶️ Instagram: cronicasdelahistoria 👉▶️CONTACT: [email protected] 🎬Watch our latest videos: / @cronicasdelahistoria_channel ►Timestamps 0:00 Introduction 1:00 Bang Bang Club 3:43 The Girl and the Vulture 8:11 Lynching 10:58 Depression 12:16 Death 13:42 Clarification ✅IMAGES OBTAINED FROM. ✅ IMAGES OBTAINED FROM .
