HH Makes Development Commitments in Chienge

By Justine Akakulubelwa President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says his administration will expedite the completion of the Nchelenge–Chienge Road and the construction of three major bridges once re-elected, in a move aimed at improving road connectivity across Chienge District. The President has also pledged to establish a skills training centre, expand banking services and increase the number of beneficiaries under the Farmer Input Support Programme -FISP. President HICHILEMA made the commitments when he addressed residents during a community engagement in Chienge District today. He also promised to construct additional health facilities in Chienge, Kalungwishi, Puta and Mununga. The President urged voters to elect UPND councillors, council chairpersons, Members of Parliament and the President in the August 13 general election. He said the UPND government has delivered development over the past four years and ten months. President HICHILEMA said another term for the UPND will ensure the continuation of key social programmes, including free education, the Social Cash Transfer and Cash for Work, which he said have improved the lives of many Zambians. Meanwhile, President HICHILEMA directed that all health volunteers in CHIENGE be recruited during the ongoing recruitment exercise. He further directed that the volunteers should remain deployed in CHIENGE District after being employed. Some of the health volunteers welcomed the announcement, saying the employment opportunities will enable them to continue serving communities in CHIENGE District. In a separate development, Citizens First –CF- candidate for CHITUNDA Ward, RICHARD NGOSA, defected to the UPND.
