The phrase "God was manifested in the flesh" is proof that Jesus was the same God incarnate. 💡 However, a look at the oldest manuscripts shows that the original reading was not "θεός" (god), but "*ὃς*" (who)... Who is this "who"? To whom or what does this pronoun refer? In the Codices Sinaiticus, Alexandrinus, Ephraemi Rescriptus, and Claromontanus, we see a clear intention to correct the text to read "θεός" 🥷🏻 It was from the 8th and 9th centuries onward that the use of "θεός" became standardized, and most current translations originate from there.
