Into the Boglands of County Offaly | A Ride into the Wind

Riding into the Boglands of County Offaly | Thinking on Two Wheels In this episode, I leave Monasterevin, County Kildare, and head north into the heart of County Offaly, following quiet back roads through one of Ireland's most distinctive landscapes. The journey takes me through Clonbullogue and towards Edenderry, where I pass the former Edenderry peat-burning power station—a reminder of an era when Ireland's boglands powered the nation. The ride ends at a nearby wind farm, where I stop to watch one of the giant turbines turning slowly above the landscape. It's a quiet moment to reflect on change, energy, and how places evolve over time. Thinking on Two Wheels is about more than motorcycles. It's about curiosity, lifelong learning, and discovering ideas on the open road. Every ride is an opportunity to explore new places, challenge old assumptions, and see the world from a different perspective. If you enjoy motorcycle touring, Irish scenery, and reflective journeys, I'd love to have you along for the ride. 👍 If you enjoyed this video, please like, subscribe, and leave a comment.
