Can a Beginner Transform a 22-Year-Old Honda Deauville? | From Dullville to Deauville

Can a complete beginner transform a 22-year-old Honda Deauville and make it into a motorcycle he is genuinely proud to own? In this episode of Thinking on 2 Wheels, I take you through the work I have been doing to improve my 2004 Honda NT650V Deauville—not by carrying out an expensive professional restoration, but by cleaning, repairing, experimenting and gradually making the bike my own. I show you some of the changes I have made, including: Deep cleaning and restoring the bodywork Reviving the faded black plastics Polishing the exhaust Removing old sticker glue from the windscreen & polishing Repairing damaged fairings Replacing missing and mismatched screws Creating my own Thinking on 2 Wheels stickers I also look ahead to possible future additions, including a digital temperature gauge and a voltmeter, as I continue learning more about the bike and how it works. This is not about building the fastest, most valuable or most attention-grabbing motorcycle. It is about taking an overlooked old touring bike, learning new skills and slowly turning it into a distinctive Thinking on 2 Wheels bike—one that I am proud of, whether it turns the heads of other bikers or not.
