La leggenda del Minotauro | Andrea Pennacchi | TEDxPadova
Have you ever heard a great comic actor explain what Hybris is? I've been a theatre professional since 1993, when my journey began with the Teatro Popolare di Ricerca – Centro Universitario Teatrale di Padova. I then sought to develop a solid acting education, studying with masters like Eimuntas Nekrosius, Carlos Alsina, and Cesar Brie, but—most importantly—working as hard as possible. Gigi Dall'Aglio taught me the basics of directing and allowed me to collaborate with him as an assistant, introducing me to the craft in Shakespeare productions and a memorable Pirandello play starring Corrado Pani. I wrote the play "Eroi," a finalist for the Premio Off del Teatro Stabile del Veneto, with the support of Giorgio Gobbo and Sergio Marchesini, which is approaching its 1000th performance. It was followed, in the war trilogy, by "Trenches: Spring Awakening" (2015). I'm currently working on "My Father: Notes on the Civil War," which will conclude—with the Second World War—my reflections on organized violence and epic poetry. I made my playwriting debut (which premiered in March 2013, produced by Pantakin) with "Villan People." I wrote a play about Italians in Somalia in 1993: "Check Point Pasta," a finalist for the 2018 CENDIC Award, and as soon as I find the funding, I'll stage it. For film, I began playing the part of Sandro in Andrea Segre's award-winning film "Io sono Li" (I Am Li) (and also had a cameo in "La prima neve"), and for Carlo Mazzacurati I played the part of the upholsterer in "La sedia della felicità." I played the policeman Sorelli in "Leoni" by director Pietro Parolin, produced by the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. I also played the corrupt Honorable Mergio in "Suburra," directed by Sergio Sollima, and the big kid Paolo in "The Hidden Color of Things," by Silvio Soldini. I just finished filming "Arrivano i prof," directed by Ivan Silvestrini. For Rai, I played the Director of L'Europeo in "L'Oriana," directed by Marco Turco, and the fearful Dr. Brera in Grand Hotel, directed by Luca Ribuoli. I also starred in "Non Uccidere 2," "Don Matteo," and "A un passo dal Cielo." I played the 1950s role of Accountant Galli in "Il paradiso delle signore," seasons one and two.
