Chofer de camión murió tras despiste y volcadura en la Vía de Evitamiento (1/2)

A truck driver died after losing control and overturning on the Vía de Evitamiento (Lima's ring road), near the Caja de Agua bridge. The victim was identified as Wilver Sánchez Almanza, who was driving a heavy cargo vehicle when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control. According to preliminary information from the police and Lima Expresa (Lima's public transportation company) personnel, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, which caused him to be ejected from the cab during the accident and crushed by the truck itself. The truck was transporting parquet flooring and auto parts, some of which were scattered across the road after the impact. National Police officers, representatives from the Public Prosecutor's Office, and a tow truck arrived at the scene to remove the vehicle and begin the corresponding procedures. The accident caused severe traffic congestion on the Vía de Evitamiento, with long lines of vehicles stretching from the Caja de Agua bridge to the vicinity of Puente Nuevo (New Bridge), while authorities continued their work.
