Journalists post lots of opportunities here. You need to share your personal opinion and get featured if the reporter likes your ideas. Other than HARO, you should be producing awesome content for your website. You should also optimize your keywords. If you know what keywords you want to rank with, you'll be successful. Be consistent with link building. Focus on consistency and give it time. Google has to trust your website. If it was easy, Google would rank every website.
