Our expedition to the Souls of Nova Olinda enters one of the most difficult and exhausting phases of the entire journey. After days facing the harsh Amazonian summer and the extreme difficulty of navigating the Caipora stream, the time has come to abandon the canoes and continue the journey entirely on foot. From here, the adventure transforms into a true survival experience in the Amazon rainforest. We walked for hours inside the stream and through stretches of dense forest, facing mud, fallen trees, intense heat, extreme fatigue, and the accumulated physical exhaustion of several days of expedition. Without defined trails and practically isolated in the heart of the Amazon, we headed towards the base camp, known locally as Duas Bocas, one of the most important points of our journey to the sanctuary of the Souls of Nova Olinda.
