SOBREVIVIENDO EN EL AMAZONAS: 3 días en lancha donde la carretera desaparece@josemedrano7451
For three days and three nights, we traveled from Yurimaguas to Iquitos on a cargo boat navigating the rivers of the Peruvian Amazon. This was neither a comfortable nor a tourist route. We slept in hammocks, endured rain, heat, long waits, and shared the river with passengers, merchants, animals, fruits, and merchandise traveling to reach different jungle villages. On this journey, we crossed the Huallaga, Marañón, and finally the Amazon rivers, encountering communities where the only road is the water. At each stop, vendors boarded, packages were unloaded, cargo shifted, and a way of life unfolded that many Peruvians are unfamiliar with. This documentary reveals the harsh reality of traveling the Amazonian rivers: men who make a living from cargo, families who travel for days, merchants carrying their goods, captains who know the river by heart, and villages that depend entirely on these boats to connect with the rest of the country. We also experienced sunrises, sunsets, and immense landscapes that can only be seen by navigating the deep jungle. A challenging, beautiful, and revealing journey to understand how life unfolds where there are no roads. Would you travel for three days and three nights in a boat like this to reach Iquitos?
