人生の晩年にならないと気付けない「人生で一番後悔していること」【仏教の教え】
When you talk to children about gravity, the first question they ask is, "Why does Earth have gravity?" In fact, no scientist can answer this question. All we know is that a force called gravity exists in the universe. However, when they start school and are told, "Objects with mass create an attractive force between them. This force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them..." As they learn various equations and fill in answer sheets, they begin to feel like they understand gravity and their questions disappear. Similarly, when science unravels the workings of the human body and explains pleasure, discomfort, and even thought in terms of chemical reactions in the brain, they begin to feel a vague understanding of what it means to be alive. [Why was I born?] [Why must I live even when it hurts?] This is despite the fact that they have no answers to life's essential questions. In the midst of the anxiety and despair of death, it's unlikely that they would feel reassured if someone explained, "Your suffering is caused by these chemical reactions in your brain." That's not what I want to know. "As I approach the end of my great command, regret and fear alternate." (At the moment of death, regret and fear arise alternately.) [What will happen when I die?] Buddha taught that the only major problem is the bleak future. In Buddhism, this is called "the greatest problem of the afterlife." It is a major problem that cannot be solved through knowledge or scholarship. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Click here for the official "Understanding Buddhism" LINE. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ・Video and column updates ・Mini-sections explaining Buddhist terminology in simple terms ・LINE friend-only events, etc. ▼Click here for the official "Understanding Buddhism" LINE. https://lin.ee/GbzwYBX ----------------------------------------------------------------- Click here for the 20-part free email course. ----------------------------------------------------------------- https://peraichi.com/landing_pages/vi... ↑The free email course reveals the answer to the "meaning of life" taught in Buddhism.
