EPISODE #182 Raking the Play Area

Episode #812 Raking the Play Area It was a L-O-N-G week after my holidays, but I am up again!! Distractions! Distractions!! I always have a plan, BUT yet deviate from it often. Today was no exception. I almost did not rake again today, as I started working on the area by the parking where the soil was dumped 3 years ago. I also straightened out and filled the area where the limestone meets the step down into Pirates Cove. I need more limestone there and I asked Jason to top it up please so we have a gradual grade there and have no issues with water spilling into Pirates Cove as that would defeat the purpose. The chipmunks are on high alert this weekend and not wanting to share. There is a lot of chasing each other and not accepting others’ presence when they are receiving peanuts. Sigh…. They will not listen to me. It looks like the animals sense the seasons are changing and they are on high alert and stashing as much as possible in their homes. There is a lot of seed gathering, and peanuts of course, from the chipmunks and I see similar behaviour from other animals too. The gardens are still looking good but there is a change in the air. It became windy all of a sudden and I was concerned to go to the play area to rake. It is surrounded by trees and I worry about branches falling on windy days. I decided to go in and leave it for another day. While I was in, the wind died down so I came back out,. Then the wind picked up again when I was ready to start. Soooo, I just did my thing and it worked out well, and soon calmed. I finished the raking while feeding the chipmunks too! 😊 It was a pretty uneventful day but I am glad I finished the raking!!
