From Clancy Hayes' private tapes, this recording was made at the home of Bill Priestly in Park Forest, Illinois, August 1959. On Whispering Clancy is accompanied by Marty Grosz on banjo. On Blues My Naughty Sweetie Gives To Me Ralph Sutton is on Piano and Jimmy McPartland plays cornet. The video includes images of several Clancy LPs and musicians he played with including the Original Salty Dogs. The biography and discography Clancy Hayes - The Swinging Minstrel was published in September last year. As always the videos has a slide referring to the excellent websites of the SFTJF Charles Huggins Project at Stanford University and Dave Radlauer's Jazz Rhythm. There is also mention of the incredible Syncopated Times magazine. For those who have not looked at the SFTJF website for a while, there is a significant amount of recently added material including images of Lu Watters, the Watters' band books, images of Bob Helm and new Turk Murphy material including a two hour video of a 1980 outside charity fundraiser titled 'Turk Murphy's Jazz Band Live - Downtown San Francisco'.
