Storm Detour to Osaka! Our First Japan Cruise Port

A storm changes our Diamond Princess Japan cruise itinerary and sends us to Osaka a day earlier than expected! Join Pat and Amy from Rocks to Reefs as we explore the very first port of our cruise. Our Osaka adventure begins at Kuromon Ichiba Market, where we browse fresh seafood, handmade gifts, and tempting Japanese desserts. The boys try freshly cooked authentic wagyu for the first time, and then we visit a ramen shop where one request for extra green onion delivers a huge surprise! Next, we experience the flashing lights and nonstop action of a Japanese pachinko parlor before passing through Kitchenware Street on our way to Denden Town. We shop for anime merchandise, embroidered clothing, toys, and more before visiting Tamiya World. Patrick loved seeing the classic RC cars he grew up with—including the Clodbuster, Monster Beetle, and Grasshopper. We finish our unexpected day in Osaka with another round of pachinko and a rainy taxi ride back to the Diamond Princess.
