International Children’s Rights (Advanced LL.M.) | Meet the Guest Lecturer: Mr. Jelle Klaas

In each episode, we share a short conversation with an inspiring guest lecturer visiting the Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Children’s Rights programme at Leiden University. In this episode, Ruhama Abebe speaks with Mr. Jelle Klaas, Executive Director and human rights lawyer at Stichting PILP, who joined the programme as a guest lecturer for the Children’s Economic and Social Rights course. Mr. Klaas reflects on one of the major challenges involved in using strategic litigation to advance children’s rights and shares the practical perspective he brings to the programme. He also encourages students to have confidence in their abilities and to become effective legal allies to the communities they support.
