Off the coast of the eastern Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico lies a small island called Cozumel, with a population of 90,000. Cozumel is a famous tourist destination where numerous cruise ships from various Caribbean companies dock. With over 2 million tourists visiting the island by cruise ship annually, it serves as a "treasure trove" and a "goose that lays golden eggs" for Mexico. It is a small but truly beautiful island. Last January, I traveled through the Caribbean for 14 nights and 15 days, visiting cities in seven countries. On January 16th, the final port of call was Cozumel. Our group disembarked and toured the island for five hours. Although the time was short and I felt a bit regretful, it was meaningful as it was my first visit to Mexico, and I enjoyed it because the island was so beautiful. If the opportunity arises, I definitely want to visit this island again.
