Maryland’s Hidden Gem, Swallow Falls State Park Campground and Waterfall Hike

In this Episode: Our 2023 camping season continues, with our first ever Maryland State Park adventure! This time, April 27, 2023, we are heading to the Swallow Falls State Park. Our campsite is number 35, which has NO HOOKUPS! You’ll need a generator to camp here, but you won’t be able to run it during quiet hours. The campground is very well built and maintained, probably one of the best we’ve seen. It is very quiet and secluded, which is our preference. Our goal for this adventure is to explore the waterfalls and old growth forest at Swallow Falls State Park. This short hike is one of the best we’ve done. The trail immediately take you to Muddy Creek Falls, which is the tallest waterfall here. There are several other shorter, but wider, falls on the Youghiogheny River. The trail also features the last old growth forest in Maryland, which is a magical jungle of 300 year Hemlock trees. This Maryland Adventure did not disappoint, Swallow Falls is truly a hidden gem, worth the time for all RVer’s and hikers to explore! Friends, welcome to our RV Camping channel.
