The Forest Man of India | Documentary Film | In-house Production | Decode Mediacom

Jadav Payeng, a resident of Majuli island in the Brahmaputra river, has singlehandedly planted a forest spanning over 1300 acres of land. Always inclined towards development communication, we got excited at the prospect of making a film on the subject. Our dream was realised when a Germany based NGO, Weltfilme, funded the project. While the subject of our documentary The Forestman of India, has been decorated with a Padma Shri Award, our film was showcased at ‘Quotes From Earth’ festival, which is a collaborative effort by Toxic Link and India International Centre, New Delhi and at Woodpecker Film Festival. It was also telecasted at ProSieben, a popular German Television network.
