How does a cadaver dissection course really work? In this vlog, I take you with me to Milan, to the Cadaver Lab Full Body ATS, along with Professor Ferdinando Paternostro. I'll show you everything: the preparation, the dissection room, the layer-by-layer dissection, and what it means to study anatomy in person. As a surgeon, I'll also tell you something personal: my anatomy exam was a nightmare, yet seeing the enthusiasm of the medical, nursing, and physical therapy students while watching real anatomy brought back the wonder of a subject I thought I feared. The video also features two interviews: Professor Ferdinando Paternostro, who explains why the cadaver lab is essential before, during, and after studying anatomy, and why surgeons and anatomists are two sides of the same coin; and Dr. Giacomo Catalani of the Cadaver Lab Full Body ATS, on the value of hands-on training for all healthcare professions.
