FULL REPORT: Accident during Federal Highway Police inspection kills father and son on BR-116 in Inhapim The fatal accident occurred between late morning and early afternoon this Sunday, during a Federal Highway Police (PRF) inspection on BR-116 in Inhapim. Father and son died. Jurandir Dias Bicalho, 54, who was driving the motorcycle, and Leandro Alves Bicalho, 19, who was a passenger. According to information gathered by the report, Federal Highway Police inspector Luiz Tarcísio was conducting an inspection on the stretch when he was run over by the motorcycle. According to Federal Highway Police officer Tadeu Lima, responsible for investigating the incident, Luiz Tarcísio was thrown onto the road. Then, the two occupants of the motorcycle were also thrown to the ground and ended up being hit by the truck that had just been stopped. Jurandir died at the scene. Leandro was rescued and taken to Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora Hospital in Caratinga, but he did not survive his injuries. Father and son were from Inhapim. Their deaths caused great commotion among family, friends, and residents of the region. The truck driver presented his version of events. According to the most recent information, Inspector Luiz Tarcísio suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a broken leg. He received initial treatment in Caratinga and was transferred to a hospital in Coronel Fabriciano.
