This Is the Biggest Boat Elevator in Europe: Strepy-Thieu in Belgium
We transited the epic Strepy-Thiéu Boat Lift in Belgium during our barge cruise with CroisiEurope on the barge MS Raymonde. Located on the Canal du Centre, the Strépy-Thieu boat elevator is the second largest boat lift in the world. It features 73.15 meters of incline and takes about seven minutes to go from the bottom to the top to be able to continue on the waterway. This was a highlight of our weeklong barge cruise with CroisiEurope.
