※ This video is an excerpt from *World Theme Travel - Founding Anniversary Special: The Path of Life, Death Road*, which aired on June 27, 2017. A journey set out in search of Yachagumba (Cordyceps). We head to Nepal, a mountainous nation home to eight of the world's top ten highest peaks. We arrive at Jupal Airport, the gateway to Dolpo, from Nepalgunj Airport and begin our journey. We set off with Nepalese member Sujan Shakya, a member of the Yachagumba expedition, along with local porters and donkeys carrying our luggage. The section from Dunai (2,140m above sea level) to Chhyugar (3,440m above sea level). From the very start, a series of dizzying accidents occur, such as a donkey's food sack bursting and another donkey falling over on a cliffside path. At the base camp, we taste Dal Bhat, a dish consisting of rice and Dal, a soup made from lentils. The high and rugged section ascending from Ghyamghar (3,755m) to Do Tarap (4,050m). There are people who descend from there due to injuries or altitude sickness. Nevertheless, the reason people climb this path is because Yachagumba is a precious medicinal herb. At Thyangboche (4,500m), reached after a long journey, we take on the challenge of harvesting Yachagumba. The harvested Yachagumba is so hard to find that it is traded for more than gold.
