Adieu les parasites ! Créer une liaison Fibre Optique pour Arduino (Test réel)
Can you really replace an electrical cable with light? In this video, I conduct a real-world test of data transmission via optical fiber between two Arduinos. The goal isn't pure performance, but rather to understand how an optical link works, from the electronics to the light. We'll see: how a UART signal is converted into a light signal how it propagates through an optical fiber how it's converted back at the receiving end and most importantly… what actually happens when it doesn't work Using an oscilloscope, we analyze the signals, identify a logic inversion problem, and correct the circuit. Real-world measurements To delve deeper, I use field equipment: an optical photometer to measure overall losses an OTDR (optical time-domain reflectometer) to locate defects in a fiber So we move from theory… to real-world measurement. Setup: Arduino Uno UART Transmission 74HCT14 (Schmitt trigger) 2N2222 Transistor HFBR Fiber Optic Modules (Avago) Single-mode/Multimode Fiber Optic Why use fiber? It's not just about bandwidth. Fiber offers: Total electrical isolation No common ground Complete EMC immunity No electromagnetic interference In some environments, it's essential.
