The #1 Backhand Drop Mistake (WHY YOU MISS)

Still avoiding your backhand and running around to your forehand? In this CCC, I work with Bo on developing a reliable backhand drop, starting with a push drop and progressing into a backhand slice drop. Bo usually runs around his backhand, so we built this shot from the ground up. We started at the kitchen with a backhand push drop, focusing on:• Clean contact• Smooth swing mechanics• Getting the ball to sail softly over the net As we moved back, he started to struggle, which is where most players break down. So we worked on:• Getting lower through contact• Proper weight transfer• Using hip rotation• A full follow through Once that improved, we started to introduce the backhand slice drop, using the same progression to build feel and control. By the end, his backhand side became much more reliable, and now it’s something he can actually use in games instead of avoiding. If you struggle with your backhand drop or avoid hitting it altogether, this breakdown will show you how to build it step by step.
