We begin our hike at Alto de la Mozqueta, at an altitude of approximately 900 meters, between Mieres and San Martín del Rey Aurelio. From here, we follow a path through scrubland and pastures that winds along the ridge, offering spectacular views of the Nalón Valley and the mountains of central Asturias. The ascent is gradual, without any steep inclines, and in about five kilometers we reach Pico Tres Concejos, the highest peak in the San Martín area at 1,096 meters. At the summit, three municipalities meet: Mieres, Laviana, and San Martín del Rey Aurelio, and the views are breathtaking, with the Cantabrian Sea in the distance and the mountain range to the south. A simple yet rewarding hike, perfect for a morning in the mountains. If you enjoy hiking in Asturias, this peak should definitely be on your list. This video showcases our personal experience.
