Posada de Valdeón a Caín | La Ruta del Cares desconocida | PR.PNPE-3 | Anillo de Picos Solo Hiking

The Cares Route, or PR.PNPE-3 trail, is one of the best-known routes in the Picos de Europa National Park. However, most visitors take the route from Poncebos to Caín. Today, I'm sharing the forgotten section, which runs between Posada de Valdeón and the village of Caín. This section follows the course of the Cares River and enters the Valdeón Valley. Along the way, I'll visit several places of interest, such as the Mirador del Tombo, a medieval necropolis, an ancient wolf trap, and the church where King Pelayo was crowned. A simple hike that reveals the secrets of the people who lived in the valleys of the Picos de Europa since ancient times.
