Почему никто не может победить Погачара? Что говорит об этом наука, и это не то, что вы думаете!

Online training https://t.me/v_40_let_na_velosiped/1282 Open group in Telegram "At 40 on a bike" https://t.me/+aMAk4uNBKgdiMzgy Tadej Pogačar is a Slovenian professional cyclist, one of the most decorated riders of our time – a four-time Tour de France winner, a Giro d'Italia winner, a road race world champion, and a Triple Crown winner. After Zurich, one of the strongest former cyclists, Eddy Merckx, said: "He surpasses me. What he has achieved today is unimaginable." So what exactly is inside this man? And before we begin, please like this video. This will greatly help spread knowledge about our beloved sport of cycling, and the YouTube algorithm will recommend it to more people interested in this kind of information. So, here we go. In 2024, a Norwegian sports scientist named Ole Christian Berg decided to try to figure this out. He analyzed Pogačar's six biggest mountain climbs in the Tour de France and modeled the power required to climb those climbs at that speed. The answer: 442 watts. Sustainably. For 40 minutes straight. Now, I want you to stop for a second and appreciate what that number means. Four hundred and forty-two watts is roughly the equivalent of keeping ten bright lightbulbs on at full power, generated solely by your legs, for the duration of a short film. Most trained amateur cyclists can sustain around 250 watts before they start to fall apart. Pogačar produces 442 watts. At altitude. After two weeks of racing. And that's where the number ninety enters the room. To sustain such an effort, Berg estimated that Pogačar's body must consume oxygen at a rate of approximately ninety milliliters per kilogram per minute. Think of it this way. Your cardiovascular system is a delivery network. Oxygen is a package. VO2max is the number of packages this network can transport per minute at absolute full capacity. A sedentary adult transports around thirty to thirty-five. An amateur athlete, maybe fifty. A professional Tour de France cyclist, typically between seventy and eighty. Already extraordinary. Already in a place most people will never reach. Now imagine that scale. And put ninety on it. That's not just higher. That's a completely different story. Kipchoge, the greatest living marathoner, operates at around seventy-eight. Armstrong at his peak is eighty-four. Indurain, after five consecutive Tours, is around eighty-eight. Pogačar's model value is higher than almost any endurance athlete in the scientific literature. And he's 27 years old. Berg's study is a model, not a lab test. There's a margin of error. But whether the actual number is eighty-eight or ninety-four, the picture remains the same. This is the human body operating at the extreme outer limit of what cardiovascular science says is even possible. But here's what most people get wrong about VO2 max. A higher number doesn't automatically make you a better athlete. And I can prove it with one story. Every July, before the start of the Tour de France, riders undergo cardiac screening. What cardiologists find in these scans is hearts that are twenty to forty percent higher than normal. Resting heart rates are around thirty. The chambers are enlarged to handle volumes of blood that would alarm any doctor treating a normal patient. One cardiologist who has been monitoring Tour riders for years put it simply: "When you see an athlete's heart rate, you immediately know they're not a normal person." Pogačar's resting heart rate is reportedly around thirty beats per minute. The average adult's heart rate is between sixty and eighty.
