Mariachi Nuevo Santander, Roma High School, Roma TX - MVE27

Mariachi Nuevo Santander from Roma High School in Roma, Texas kicked off this spectacular performance with their "Tema" into "El Ranchero" followed by "Esta Vida" during the 27th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, December 4, 2021. The group performs under the direction of Eloy Garza, head of Roma ISD's mariachi music program. Eloy has enjoyed a long history of creating award-winning mariachi groups and vocalists for years in the the Rio Grande Valley (South Texas) area. Mariachi Nuevo Santander competed against the best high school mariachi music programs in the nation and won third place in the 27th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza National Group competition. Mariachi Nuevo Santander has numerous accolades. Earlier this year, they performed "This Land is Your Land" during the Biden/Harris Latino Inaugural celebration.
