Mariachi Cascabel from Rio Grande City High School in Rio Grande City, TX performs "Tema Cascabel" and "Mi Vida es el Mariachi" during the 27th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza National Group Competition on December 4, 2021. The competition attracts the toughest high school groups in the U.S. who vie for 1st place. Mariachi Cascabel was selected by members of the world renowned Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán as first place winners and the best in the nation. The group performs under the direction of Marco Zarate, Mariachi Director who has established one of the strongest mariachi music programs in schools across the globe.
