Am I On Track to Break 19 Minutes at 56? | Race Week Update
In this week's training update, I continue the journey towards breaking 19 minutes for 5K at the age of 56. I take you through two key sessions from the week, including a sharpener workout ahead of race day, and explain exactly why each session matters with just two days to go before the race. Although my fitness metrics and race predictors appear to be trending in the wrong direction, I'm not concerned. I explain why the numbers don't always tell the full story, how I'm interpreting the data, and what really matters as race day approaches. I also compare three possible race shoes I'm considering for this week's 5K and talk through the pros and cons of each before making my final decision. Can the training translate into a sub-19 performance? We'll soon find out. If you're a masters runner, chasing a personal best, or interested in smart training, running shoes and race preparation, I hope you'll enjoy following the journey. If you enjoy the video, please like, subscribe and let me know in the comments: would you trust the race predictors, or your own instincts? Running Coaching from Dawn and John costs £50 per month.
