Tell me about both the effectiveness and the side effects! So, This time, I asked Dr. Takayuki Takahama of the Department of Medical Oncology at Kinki University Hospital to explain. There are three key points to keep in mind when understanding a drug's effectiveness. ① Response Rate: How much does the drug shrink the cancer? ② Progression-Free Survival: The period of time a drug is effective. ③ Overall Survival: The length of life gained from using that drug.
