This 22nd installment explains the EGFR-TKI drug Tagrisso. Unlike conventional anticancer drugs, this drug targets driver gene mutations involved in cancer growth. EGFR-TKIs can sometimes develop resistance, resulting in ineffectiveness. The most common mechanism of resistance is the T790M mutation.
