O fim da rodoviária que virou uma “cidade” e deixa mina em disputa

The Salvador Bus Terminal is about to move to Águas Claras. After 50 years in the region it helped found, the terminal is saying goodbye amidst uncertainty: more than half of the shopkeepers don't know where they will go due to a lack of financial resources, and the future of the 36,000 m2 space is uncertain. In this video, we show the last scenes of the terminal, which may be closed in December, according to the Bahia State Government, and which even gave rise to a neighborhood called Saramandaia. As we walk through the terminal, we encounter stories that reveal the life that has been created in the space: like that of the woman who has had the Bus Terminal as her last home since 2015. And that of the former farmer who lost everything in the Witch's Broom disease crisis in Bahia and became one of the taxi drivers on duty at the terminal. The move to Águas Claras now repeats a story from the 1960s.
