A heavily oxidized Cahill designer wedding dress is restored and the original bride is discovered

Patricia's wedding dress from 1957. When I was first given this dress by an estate clean out company called Foxtail , we didn't know who the original bride was. It was part of an estate clean out that they did months ago. They will reach out to me every so often when they come across a wedding dress/ vintage clothing item from an estate clean out that is in a condition too poor to sell in their shop but don't want to throw it away and this was one such example. On the Maurice Rothschild/ Young Quinlan wedding dress box was a label that long story short, I did quite a bit of research and I finally found who the original bride was! I found the newspaper wedding announcement for Patricia and James and the photo matched the dress so I knew I had the right bride. A few days after that, I stopped into their “The Fox Den” shop which is open on the weekends and located in St. Louis Park, Mn . Amongst some miscellaneous I found her framed wedding day photo! Another discovery was on the dress itself that it is a Cahill Beverly Hills gown. The wedding took place on August 24, 1957 in Edina Mn and the couple remained married until her passing in 2019. The dress as found was really heavily oxidized with spots all over. I am so happy with how it turned out and it was totally worth the effort to save it. Thank you to Fox Tail Estate Services / The Fox Den for saving and donating the dress. Let's see where it goes next on its journey! #beforeandafter #vintageweddingdresscleaning #howto #vintageclothescleaning #yellowed
