Vinohrady: Dřív tu rostla vinná réva, dnes jsou nejoblíbenější čtvrtí v Praze

Prague's Vinohrady is rightfully one of the most popular and most beautiful districts in the metropolis. To what does it owe its popularity? We will tell you in this episode of the Live Prague series. Why Vinohrady is not only a favourite with the locals and what interesting things does this district have to offer? Wine wherever you look As the name suggests, vines used to grow here - from today's National Museum to Žižkov. The area was even originally called the Vineyard Hills. Royal, wasn't it? In 1867, the district was named Královské Vinohrady in honour of Charles IV. However, less than 100 years later, the Royal attribute disappeared from the name. It simply didn't suit the communists ideologically. However, you can still find the original name at some addresses - for example at the local teaching hospital. Mecca of tenement houses When you say Vinohrady, everyone thinks of the local tenement houses, which are united by a uniform and unmistakable architecture with beautiful facades and interiors. They owe this to the construction that lasted from the 1860s to 1920. All in one place If you ask locals why they love Vinohrady so much, you'll get a clear answer - everything you need is just a few steps away. From shops to renowned businesses, there are dozens of them. For us, we can recommend the stylish La Boheme Cafe with its great coffee and beautiful interior or the U Dandů Restaurant with its well-treated pilsner. A green oasis in the middle of the city One of the great assets of Vinohrady is its parks. Riegrovy sady offers perfect tranquillity in the middle of the city and unforgettable views of Prague Castle. In Havlíčkův Sady (or Grébovec), you will find a magical grotto or a vineyard. And let's not forget the tree-lined streets that complete the "green" atmosphere of Vinohrady. Do you agree that Vinohrady is one of the most beautiful districts in the capital? Or does your heart belong to another part of Prague? And what do you think we forgot to mention about Vinohrady? Letná is undoubtedly one of them, and we have also dedicated one of our videos to it:    • Proč je Letná tak oblíbená?   However, there are also places that not long ago did not belong to the famous corners of Prague and which are now gaining in popularity. For example, Nusle, which we present in this video:    • Nusle jsou utajená pražská perla, kde se p...   And the little-known Lysolaje, which has an unrepeatable, almost village atmosphere, is also worth mentioning:    • 5 důvodů, proč navštívit pražské Lysolaje   Follow us on social networks: FB (regularly new properties and information from the real estate market):   / realitnikancelarkotula   IG (what's happening behind the scenes of filming and our work):   / kotula.daniel   Need help selling or renting a property?
