Rapeando a Marx. Entrevista a Pau Llonch

To conclude our series on Marx and capitalism, we interviewed Pau Llonch, rapper and economist. Pau has brought to the streets a version of Marx very close to the one we've presented here on La filosofía en Canal. In this interview, we explore what we've called "a republican reading of Marx," which Pau Llonch explains very clearly. We also take the opportunity to talk about rap and the role of art and poetry in our political struggles. We'll revisit Luis Alegre's book, El lugar de los poetas (The Place of Poets), which we both consider very important, and also the role that Vygotsky's psychology could play in all of this—an author on whom Pau has reflected deeply. Pau Llonch is a Marxist economist, musician, and Catalan political activist. He is a member of the Taifa Critical Economics Seminar, founder of the Versembrant educational cooperative, and the lead singer of the Catalan hip-hop group At Versaris.
