According to Nganjuk Deputy Police Chief, Commissioner Didid Wahyu Agustyawan, the preliminary motive is believed to stem from a long-held grudge against DMG. During initial questioning, DMG admitted to experiencing abuse since childhood. Meanwhile, DMG's male friend is suspected of being involved because he felt their relationship did not receive the victim's approval. Police suspect the act was premeditated. After the victim's death, his body was buried in the yard. The mound of earth was then covered with banana stems and roof tiles to allay suspicions. The case began to unravel after residents noticed a foul odor and found bloodstains around the victim's house. The Nganjuk Police's Inafis team then processed the crime scene and found the victim's body buried in the yard. The two suspected perpetrators were apprehended in the Sidoarjo area several hours after the bodies were discovered. Investigators are currently investigating the chronology, motive, and possible premeditation in the case.
